Eligibility Requirements & Application Process
Designed for mid-career professionals with leadership potential across technical and commercial roles.
Format: Part-time over 14 weeks with live sessions, team sprints, and executive reviews. (Global participation supported.)
The cost of the Avatar Ignite 2026 program is $5,000 CAD to independent applicants not covered by partners/scholarships . We’re happy to invoice organizations directly for staff to utilize professional development budgets.

Industry Focus: Applicants should work in or have a strong interest in the energy sector, particularly in roles that intersect with energy innovation, efficiency, and transition.
Mid-Career Professionals: The program is targeted at mid-career professionals who are considered by their employers to have high potential to contribute to corporate performance and innovation.
Innovation-Oriented: Ideal candidates are progressive, forward-thinking professionals who have demonstrated an interest or capability in innovation and problem-solving within their roles.

Applicants must be willing to commit approximately 15 hours per month, which includes biweekly workshops, team assignments, and preparation for the final Shark Tank pitch.

Applicants do not need to bring an idea, problem, or opportunity from their company to the program. Instead, they will be placed into teams and assigned to one of the 12 predefined technology streams that align with their interests and company priorities.
To qualify for a Scholarship to the Avatar Ignite 2026 program, simply answer the application form authentically and honestly and you will be offered the opportunity to apply without cost.

However, participation is still competitive, and final approval will come from your employer. Scholarships:
There are a limited number of spaces available for individuals currently enrolled in their Masters, Ph.D. or Post-Doc graduate programs. There are also scholarships, while highly competitive and limited, available to high-performing energy leaders not employed by our corporate partners.

Program Costs:
The Avatar Program offers an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate your leadership and innovation skills with a total investment of $5,000 CAD. To secure your place in the program, a 10% deposit is required at the time of application for those applicants not affiliated with a partner organization , supported post-secondary institution, or industry organization scholarship.
